New York – December 9, 2025 – According to BloombergNEF's 2025 Lithium-Ion Battery Price Survey, average pack prices have fallen to a record low of $108 per kilowatt-hour, marking an 8% decline from 2024 despite higher costs for key battery metals. . In this work we describe the development of cost and performance projections for utility-scale lithium-ion battery systems, with a focus on 4-hour duration systems. The projections are developed from an analysis of recent publications that include utility-scale storage costs. Stationary storage costs plunged 45%, EV packs averaged $99/kWh, with China leading lowest prices. Note: historical prices have been updated to reflect real 2024 dollars.
